Tinnitus TMJ – How to Understand and Treat TMJ Tinnitus

Tinnitus TMJ

TMJ disease has many medical manifestations such as TMJ neck pain, TMJ ear pain and TMJ tinnitus. In fact, almost part of individuals suffering from TMJ dysfunction, have tinnitus as a symptom. This disorder is faintly more difficult to diagnose as it is not really lead to from the hearing loss, but larger amount of a result of your jaw being out of alignment. Tinnitus TMJ

Once identified, however, relief can often be successfully achieved, sometimes provided a few weeks of finding the TMJ tinnitus. TMJ TMJ, temporomandibular joint disorder, is a disorder that involves the misalignment of the jaw, is one of the lesser known causes of hearing loss. The joint is found in front of the ear, and allows us to speak, chew and smile.

TMJ sufferers usually wake feeling like they never slept or at least, did not sleep well. TMJ disorders include sinus headaches, migraine headaches, jaw joints popping when yawning and/or eating, tingling fingers, stiff neck and shoulders, frequent dizzy spells, lower back pain, and light-headedness. Tinnitus TMJ

Tinnitus Tinnitus is often suffered by TMJ victims as a side effect. Hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo and nausea was often mentioned in case histories of TMJ patients. Earlier this year, researchers reported that patients with craniocervical mandibular disorders suffered with tinnitus as a primary or secondary complaint. If tinnitus is present for no obvious reason, a questionnaire may be developed by the audiologist that will help in determining if the condition is linked to a jaw joint dysfunction.

Compression of the tissues behind the jaw joint are often the cause of decreased hearing and TMJ tinnitus. Treatment TMJ tinnitus remedies treat the tinnitus noises you are hearing, relieve the pain , treat the depression and also help you to sleep. A thorough diagnostic assessment is done prior to treatment. The cause of TMJ can be different, depending on the TMJ dysfunction patient, so careful treatment and diagnosis is important.

It is recommended that two to three weeks into the course of treatments, you have chiropractic manipulation of the temporalis masseter muscles in the jaw. The course of treatments may involve taking two separate remedies , which between them treat the pain, the tinnitus, help relieve the depression, help you to get some sleep and most important of all, help you to relax those tensed muscles. Cranial osteopathy – gentle, hands-on structural adjustment, used with other treatments, is used to address TMJ, facial pain, headaches, vertigo, tinnitus, and ear infections. Suffering from Tinnitus and Ringing in Ear? Get your life back forever by checking out Tinnitus TMJ now.

The IH Brain Pain Team are trying to raise awareness for a little known yet devastating brain condition called IH. (Intracranial hypertension.) Old names for IH include Pseudotumour cerebri, benign intracranial hypertension (BIH) and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. (IIH) It can affect anyone at any age, and can cause life altering disability. Most people have never heard of IH, and most IH sufferers look well, when they are not!! IH symptoms include severe headaches (as if your head is in a vice!), Vision Loss, Optic nerve swelling, Double vision, Pulse- symchronous tinnitus, Sore / stiff neck, Back pain, Memory / cognitive problems, Fatigue, Malaise, Dizziness, Light headedness, Photophobia, Noise sensitivity, and many more symptoms. No two cases are the same, making it a very difficult condition to manage. For some people drugs help to control the brain pressure, but for others the drugs don’t work and they have to endure painful sugery. IH is an invisible illness. IH sufferers look well, and often don’t get treated with the compassion that they deserve, because people don’t realise how serious IH is! Please take a few minutes to watch this video put together by many IH sufferers in the hope that we can raise awareness for IH and the IH Research foundation. The IH Research foundation are the only non profit organization in the world devoted to researching chronic IH, to find better treatments, and ultimately one day a cure! Dr. Paul Donohue: Potassium plays a vital health role
Dear Dr. Donohue: A recent blood check showed that my potassium was high. I was told to stop eating bananas and drinking orange juice. I also was told to return to the doctor’s office the next week. I did. They took another blood sample. They told me nothing more.

Pulsatile Tinnitus – What Is Pulsatile Tinnitus?

Pulsatile Tinnitus – What Is Pulsatile Tinnitus?

Pulsatile Tinnitus

Most of us know that tinnitus is a highly irritable ringing in your ears. However, one variant is pulsatile tinnitus. This is the term for noises that you hear too come at the same time your heart beats. If you evaluate your pulse either by putting your thumb on your wrist or on your jaw below your ear, you will find they beat at the same minute and rate.

The 2 main causes of pulsatile tinnitus.

Changes to the blood flow to your ears

If, for some reason, a blood vessel is narrower than is would usually be, the supply needs to be carried across neighboring vessels. Think of it like a road system, if one has road blocks or is too busy, the cars will filter onto other roads instead.

This may happen when arteries harden due to the build up of cholesterol or other fatty materials (atherosclerosis). As this causes the unsmooth blood flow as mentioned above, the noises occur due to the extra blood being carried elsewhere instead. Pulsatile Tinnitus

Increased awareness of the blood flow to your ears

Although this may sound the same as above is it entirely different. If you are more aware of the sounds your body makes you will start to notice noises that have been there all the time. For example, a hearing condition or perforated ear drum may leave you without proper hearing and you are more than likely to realise the normal sounds that your body makes as they are not hidden by external sounds.

If you have started to notice a beating noise in your ear then you should speak to your doctor about it for diagnosis. This is done by looking at your eardrums and the blood vessels in your neck. If a diagnosis is made into your cause such as the examples above or high blood pressure then you will also be given help to treat it. Otherwise you may be offered advice into how best to manage it. This is often sound therapy or tinnitus retraining therapy (CBT). Suffering from Ringing Ears and Tinnitus?  Get your life back forever by checking out Pulsatile Tinnitus now.

Is quietus for tinnitus a scam?

Posted By: tgon1563 on August 18, 2010 at 11:38 pm

Question by Dave Lovelock: Is quietus for tinnitus a scam?
I’m suffering from severe tinnitus for over two years now. I have tried a lot of remedies including homeopathic ones but none of them helped. Recently I saw on TV an advertisement about quietus for tinnitus, I am considering buying it but does it really work? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you.

Answer by Peter W.
Hi. I have had the same problem like you for a long time and I know what it’s all about, I had severe tinnitus due to loud noise exposure. I really could’t bare it anymore so I searched for remedies and tried homeopathics with no succes, and I wasn’t up for surgery. Now to the point Quietus is indeed a scam as many people who have used it claim it has not cured them at all. Chemists also claim to have found nothing but sugars, its just a placebo effect product. I looked at the price tag of Quietus and its double the price of the remedy I used to cure my tinnitus.

So being desperate for a cure and considering most remedies being a scam I tried one more, by chance I came across this website http://www.squidoo.com/Discover-remedies-for-tinnitus which suggests Tinnitus Miracle. This website provides a great solution to eliminate that ringing in your ear. Now I said goodbye to my tinnitus. Big thanks to this website.

Question by Because Forehead: I have tinnitus, and many questions about it…?
I would like answers from doctors, but I don’t want to hear that it’s hopeless. There must be some way to stop or at least reduce that hideous ringing sound in my ears. I find it very hard to believe that in our modern times there is still no specific treatment for tinnitus and I am willing to try anything even if it’s not scientifically proven. So here’s my specific situation…

For a few weeks now I have had constant tinnitus which came out of nowhere, accompanied by “popping” sounds in my ears when I swallow or yawn, a weird feeling in the back of my throat I can’t really explain, and occasional mild headaches.

During this time I have only been able to get to sleep at around 5am, because that’s when the birds come out and tweet in the morning (Helping to distract me from the hideous ringing noises). Because of this I have been losing valuable hours of sleep, which doesn’t help me. So here are my questions…

Q1: Is it best to use tinnitus-masking CDs containing natural sounds, like rain and waves, or are plain old white noise CDs more effective?

Q2: What foods or dietary changes can I make to reduce tinnitus?

Q3: If my tinnitus is NOT noise-induced, can loud noise still make it worse?

Q4: If I’m listening to music, which audio formats are best to listen to through headphones, i.e. are low-bit rate MP3s bad for the ears? What sound format is safer?

Q5: Since my tinnitus hasn’t gotten any better in the last few weeks, is it likely that I will become a permenant sufferer?

Thank you for taking the time to read. I have had tinnitus my whole life to a certain degree, but never this bad. Any advice you could give would be delightful.

Answer by katrina
You haven’t tried the sounds in your room? If you can handle the outside noises/birds etc..stands to reason you could experiment with CDs etc. Lipoflavanoids have shown promise in helping tinnitus….diet changes…less caffiene..etc etc…as have various herbs etc. Maybe check out a natural practitioner in your area

What do you think? Answer below!

Tinnitus Research

Posted By: tgon1563 on August 8, 2010 at 11:45 pm

www.megavista-health.com Tinnitus research seeks to uncover causes of tinnitus, ranging from those unrelated conditions that have tinnitus as a side effect to an actual problem within the brain itself that can lead to tinnitus. Tinnitus research is conducted by privately funded organizations and groups like the American Tinnitus Association, which are funded through grants and donations. Because the sounds of tinnitus seem to originate from within a person’s own head, tinnitus research largely focuses on the brain, seeking to identify structural abnormalities or chemical imbalances that could be linked to tinnitus symptoms. Tinnitus research also focuses on the inner and outer structures of the ear. Some tinnitus research focuses on studying the effectiveness of various remedies. This backwards-approach allows tinnitus researchers to start with the treatment, identify how the treatment works in the body and then draw possible conclusions for the cause of tinnitus. Alternative treatments are also studied in an attempt to cure tinnitus. Acupuncture, for example, has been studied and found effective in some cases of tinnitus and hypnotherapy has also been included in tinnitus research. Other tinnitus research focuses on general treatments, determining those that have higher success rates in order to help more people suffering from this frustrating condition. While there is currently no known cure for tinnitus, treating the underlying cause, if known, is typically very

Remedies for Tinnitus Relief

Posted By: tgon1563 on August 8, 2010 at 10:54 pm

www.megavista-health.com Tinnitus is a condition whereby a constant sound is heard in one or both ears and seems to come from the middle of the head and not an external source from outside the body. Therefore it is only the person with the condition that can hear this sound. Sounds of tinnitus usually include a repetitive buzzing, ringing, hissing or whistling noise. Pulsatile tinnitus is a specific form of tinnitus that involves pulsating sounds in the ears, often in tune with a heartbeat. Pulsatile tinnitus is often related to disturbances with the blood flow, and can be heard as whooshing or thumping sounds. www.megavista-health.com It is often common to experience a temporary form of tinnitus after you have been to a loud music concert for example, or following a cold or mild head injury. However some people may then suffer with the condition on a more permanent basis as the sounds of tinnitus inside the head fail to subside. Tinnitus is more common amongst older people but can still affect you at any age including young children. It tends to worsen when your external surroundings are quieter such as when you are trying to sleep and the sounds of tinnitus in the head become more obvious and severe. This can then lead to insomnia. You may also suffer more when you are tired as the noises will likely decrease your concentration levels. Therefore the condition can ultimately become extremely difficult to live with and can cause anxiety and even depression if you suffer
