TINNITUS CAUSES REMEDIES

Tinnitus is a symptom of a medical condition mostly related to problems in the auditory canal.  A person with tinnitus usually manifests ear hums that are frequently described as hissing, buzzing, roaring, ticking and ringing.  The ear hums may be heard unilaterally or bilaterally.  Since tinnitus is a symptom, it is recommended that one has to undergo medical check-up to properly identify the tinnitus causes.  Remedies for tinnitus are based on the clinical problem that caused the tinnitus.

Permanent and temporary hearing losses are the leading tinnitus causes.  Remedies for these are the provision of a hearing aid.  Temporary hearing loss may happen when there is an obstruction in the auditory canal which can be due to the presence of impacted ear wax.  Solution to this problem can be the removal of the ear wax by a physician.  Patients must never attempt to do impacted ear wax removal on their own because improper digging into the auditory canal can cause greater problems and possibly a permanent hearing loss.

Presbycusis commonly known as hearing loss associated to aging is also a popular tinnitus cause among the elderly. But tinnitus has now started to affect people at a relatively younger age and this is still due to hearing loss.  The reasons for hearing loss among the young are the constant exposure to loud noises.  Loud noises that are found in discos that expose them to very huge speakers that plays loud music. Also the very popular MP3 players have in one way or another contributed to the rapid growing population from the youth who are having tinnitus due to partial hearing loss.  Most of them are not aware of the danger of ear bud speakers that when they listen to music using their MP3 players they irresponsibly turn the volume high and unconsciously damage their hearing because of the trauma that loud noise does to the hair cells.

Problems related to blood circulation have also been identified as tinnitus causes.  Remedies would include diet and lifestyle changes.  Doing regular exercises helps improve circulation.  If the tinnitus patient is a smoker, it would be best to stop smoking since the nicotine found in cigarettes can cause problems in circulation.  Coffee, colas, tea and chocolates which contain caffeine must also be avoided because they give the same problems.

Stress and anxiety are also pointed as tinnitus causes and remedies include relaxation, deep breathing exercises, meditation and yoga.  Stress and anxiety have been found to aggravate a tinnitus of a sufferer.
